Kansas City, KS - May 15, 2009 – SmartKnitKIDS, A brand of Knit-Rite, Inc., makes it a priority to give back to the community. Sponsoring the Joshua Center of Kansas City’s annual Golf tournament, SmartKnitKIDS supports a local resource for special needs kids and makes a few holes in one.
The Joshua Center of Kansas City is a non-for-profit organization that provides counseling, psychiatric, and psychological services to children with Tourettes, Autism, Aspergers, and other neurological disorders. They are one of the few facilities in the Kansas City area to offer all three forms of assistance to kids and their families in the same location.
On May 11, 2009 the Joshua Center held their annual golf tournament to raise money for the many programs they offer. SmartKnitKIDS sponsored a hole and provided socks and crayons as a giveaway to all the golfers and to the Joshua Center’s summer camp, Camp’s For Kids. “We feel so privileged to be able to participate in the Joshua Center Golf Tournament,” says Chris Vering, SmartKnitKIDS CFO. “To be able to share our socks with children who will benefit from them is wonderful.”
SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Sensitivity Socks are a 100% truly seamless sock designed for children with Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, or for those who just can’t stand those icky sock seams. Spun the same way a caterpillar spins a cocoon, SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks are started at the toe and knitted down to the ankle. This one of a kind process creates a cozy and comfy sock for little feet and toes. A no heal design allows the sock to be slipped on any which way.
SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks are available in ankle, crew, and knee high styles up to a youth 8 shoe size and come in a color for every personality: white, black, navy, pink, and purple. SmartKnitKIDS may be purchased online and through select retailers.
