Here's a quirky little fact about my 2-year-old: he has an obsession with socks. Instead of wanting to run around the house barefoot, V insists on wearing socks at all times and can literally spend minutes at a time sifting through his dresser drawer for just the right pair.

However, he also happens to have a low tolerance for his socks bunching up when he's in the middle of running and jumping - something that happens often because of how active he is. Long story short, as much as he loves keeping his feet covered, V inevitably winds up pulling them off in annoyance because not one pair stays snugly in place for very long.

While searching for a better alternative for my little sock connoisseur, I came across SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Sensitivity Socks. Knit in the same way that a caterpillar spins its cocoon, SmartKnitKIDS socks are started at the toe and worked up to the ankle - a process that ensures a 100% seamless sock. This, in turn, means that these form-fitting socks are not only perfectly comfortable, but also keep from bunching up in those annoying lumps that my little guy hates so much.

Excited about my new find, I got in touch with a SmartKnitKIDS representative and was given the opportunity to test out some sample pairs of their seamless socks. First I was asked to select my son's shoe size (ranging from Toddler 1-4 to Girls/Boys 5-8) and a preferred style (Ankle, Crew, or Knee-High). These two factors, when plotted on the SmartKnitKIDS size chart, would determine the proper fit for my son within a range of Small to XX-Large. The final step was choosing a color from the available shades (White, Black, Pink, Purple, and Navy).

I'm happy to report that V is in love with his new socks - we took the first pair out of the box the moment we received them and he was more than willing to test them out. So far we haven't had any problems with him tearing them off out of annoyance, and I'm pretty sure it's because they fit so securely and don't interfere with his usual level of activity.

An added bonus is that they're super-easy to pull on, so V is able to put them on all by himself first thing in the morning - something that's important to a toddler who wants to be able to assert his independence. It's a good thing we were given three pairs of SmartKnitKIDS so that I can rotate them when it's time to do the laundry!

Some additional facts that you might find interesting (taken from the SmartKnitKIDS official site):
TRULY SEAMLESS Completely free of seams, our patented product is knit like a cocoon, starting from the toe up, providing comfort and relief to children who struggle with “bumps & lumps” in their socks.

“No heel” design allows children to put on socks with confidence and keeps little feet from outgrowing their socks so quickly.

Stretchy Corespun and Lycra yarns result in a form-fitting design that “hug” little feet and help eliminate wrinkling and bunching.

NON-BINDING Non-binding Halo Top™ fits comfortably without slipping down the leg. Regular socks often have elastic bands at the tops of the sock that can often pinch, bind or be a source of irritation.

NO “STINKY FEET” High-tech fibers wick moisture away helping ensure a drier and more hygienic sock environment. Antimicrobial benefits help prevent “stinky feet”.
